The Coppell Community Orchestra

is proud to continue its legacy of fostering creativity and community engagement with The Community Composers Open Invitational. This composer competition invites students and amateur composers

to showcase their talents, providing a

platform for new and innovative musical voices. By supporting both emerging and local composers, the orchestra aims to celebrate the transformative power of music and strengthen the community’s embrace of the arts.

Competition Categories:

There will be 3 categories:

  • Adult Amateur Composer

  • Collegiate Composer

  • Student Composer (K-12th grade)

Registration:

Registration includes payment of entry fee & filling out the registration form. Upon receipt of registration form, you will be provided with information on how to submit payment and additional details for sending in your recording.

Composers Entry Fee: $50.00, due immediately. Methods of payment: Zelle, Paypal, Check (indicate which method is preferred and you will be sent the necessary information.

Deadlines:

Your 3 to 5 minute composition piece is due by May 25, 2025 at 12:01 AM CST.  Please include a video or audio performance of your piece using live musicians, and a copy of your score. You can also include a midi file of your composition if you wish to provide additional supports.

Semi Finalilsts will be notified on May 30th, 2025 and rehearsal times will be set composer and their musicians to practice ahead of their performances at the Semi Finals on June 6, 2025 at 7pm, Coppell Arts Center.  On June 6, 2025 the Semi Finalists will perform for a judges panel and audience - the audience will also vote for a fan favorite.

The Winner Of  The Community Composers Invitational will headline the Pro Chamber Series at Coppell Arts Center on June 7, 2025 in addition to other prizes TBA in June.
